Join a Project!

Project Lead

To be a project lead you must have been a junior or senior consultant before. Project leads are in direct contact with the client and they assign tasks to ensure the objective of the brief is met. At the end of the project they are responsible for creating the final report for the client.

Junior Consultant

Junior consultants are responsible for completing the tasks assigned, they conduct research and analyze data to create a deliverable that they will present to the project leads, and the rest of the team at weekly meetings.

Senior Consultant

Very like the junior consultant, they are also conducting research and analyzing data , but also have more of a leadership role. If the project lead assigns a task to the team, it is the senior consultants role to try to delegate the task between themselves, and the individual consultants in the group ensuring everyone is aware of what they need to complete.

FAQs

What Is a Client Project?

Client projects give students the chance to experience what it is like to work as a consultant. Projects are six weeks long and students will be put into a team consisting of a project lead, senior consultants and junior consultants. The client the team is working with is a real business who has a task they need the team to complete. The clients for this summer’s projects are Griolladh, Kai bottle, xlite.social , UGC.ie and Refuge for Refugees. Some other memorable clients we’ve worked with are Riley, Dogpatch Labs and Legally Irish Cider. The clients will provide the project lead with a brief of what they wish to achieve throughout the project, and the whole team work together to make this possible.

Who Can Take Part ?

Any third level student in Ireland !!! As long as you are a member of ISCG. No prior consulting experience is required, or any college course in particular, we encourage students from various courses to apply!

Fun fact: Only about ⅓ of consultants hired by McKinsey, Bain and BCG did a course in finance or economics, other popular courses for consultants are physics, engineering, chemistry and computer science! So regardless of your course, consulting is always an option.

Can I apply If I’m Working This Summer/ Have An Internship?

Yes! The role is completely manageable while working or doing an internship, for the 6 weeks you will be expected to attend a weekly meeting that will last about an hour, and the tasks assigned weekly need about 1-3 hours of attention over the week.

Summary

  • Great opportunity to work with real life clients ‘

  • Completely remote

  • Flexible hours throughout the week

  • Students from any course can apply

  • Fantastic opportunity to increase skills and meet new people
